glabre, à rhizome allongé, grêle, muni de racines fines;
Écologie : (répartition d'après la flore) Bois, rochers et murs ombragés des montagnes, plus rarement des plaines, dans une grande partie de la France Corse.
Répartition hors de France : Europe Asie; Amérique boréale.

Feuilles : molles, délicates, d'un vert tendre, à pétiole grêle, faiblement écailleux, aussi long ou plus long que le limbe celui-ci aussi large que long, nettement triangule, tripennatiséqué, à rachis et pétioles secondaires lisses et glabres;

Leaves: Fronds rather thin, flaccid, green, 10-40 cm long,
deltoid in outline; length of lowest basal lobes exceeding the height, bipinnately divided and lowest lobes themselves bipinnate; pinnules or lobes divided almost to base, oblong, toothed, glabrous; rachis green, glabrous, bare portion much longer than the leafy part.

Spores : sores petits [arrondies, sans indusie], sur 2 lignes parallèles à la nervure médiane des lobes, restant ordinairement distincts à la maturité.

Spores: Sori numerous, 0.8 mm diam., subtended by a branch of the secondary vein, submarginal.
